The Arab revolutions have touched lots of Muslim hearts worldwide, inspired both Muslims and non-Muslims, Arabs and non-Arabs, and people from all colors, languages and religions. Especially, to a Muslim who is interested in geopolitics and global affairs, particularly in the Muslim world and the Middle East, following the intricate details of the causes and effects of the uprisings and the interconnected web of global and regional interests in them is a priority.
The Muslim world has lived in a declined situation of corruption, tyranny and oppression by the elite of society that were set and supported by the Western powers after the colonization of the Islamic world during World War I, a hundred years ago. All sectors of society, men and women, Muslims and non-Muslims, educated and illiterate, without any exception have tasted the pain and agony of that situation. Everyone there was waiting for that moment when everyone stands up together, side by side, and challenges oppression. December 2010 and the Arab “spring” was the start of just that dream that has come true!
Any civilization that endeavors success must engage and be fully aware of the international affairs, certainly ones that impact its vital interests and secures its path through the clashing waves of global politics. The Muslim people, as a unique nation, are no exception to this rule and therefore, caring and loving individual of this great nation must engage in the discussion and analysis that leads to awareness about the global political arena, so they can lead their nation to become that light of guidance for all of humanity.
The purpose of this blog is precisely that! It analyzes the political situation from the perspective of the Muslim people and dissects geopolitical events for the sake of furthering their interest. The “original” role of a politician is to manage the affairs of his/her people, so when political events unfold he/she would understand these events based on the interests of his/her people through the value system adopted by that nation. It is with this mindset that any event will be discussed within this blog.
After months of following the Syrian political theater on daily basis, the author of this blog started writing real-time analysis upon events as they unfold in Syria to a private circle. The circle grew bigger and by time and due to recurrent positive feedback that was encouraging and motivating, someone suggested that a blog was the proper place for such an effort so the benefit would become greater. Some already pre-written analysis for the last week or two will be posted soon and then afterwards will come the analysis and alerts on a timely basis.
The comments section will be open so everyone can come and discuss, critiques, debates the current issues posted. Everyone is welcome as long as there is no profanity and the discussion continues to be rational, respectful, and Islamic.
Peace!
